Babylon to install public hand sanitizer stations

More than a dozen hand sanitizer stations will be installed across downtowns in the Town of Babylon, officials announced Tuesday.

The partnership between the town and the Babylon Town Industrial Development Agency will fund 15 stations. Town officials also said they will be giving out $200,000 worth of personal protective equipment to businesses, either through direct distribution or via reimbursement of supplies already purchased.

Because of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Emergency and State and Federal bans on large meetings or gatherings and pursuant to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 220.1 issued on March 12, 2020 suspending the Open Meetings Law, the Babylon Industrial Development Agency (the “Agency”) Board Meeting scheduled for June 17, 2020 will be held electronically via webinar instead of a public meeting open for the public to attend in person.

Long Island On Track To Enter Phase 2 Of Reopening Next Week, Some Officials Want To Speed Things Up

The second phase for reopening New York’s economy begins on Long Island next week.
Some restrictions are being lifted but questions linger.
Phase 2 will soon be welcomed in, but what does that entail?

Local Governments Expediting Permit Process for Outdoor Business Spaces

Long Island is set to enter Phase 2 of reopening next week, and many municipal governments are looking to streamline the process of allowing businesses like restaurants to use outdoor spaces.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo confirmed that Long Island is on track to hit Phase 2 Wednesday, meaning restaurants can have outdoor dining with tables 6 feet apart.

In the Town of Babylon, they're expediting permitting to allow restaurants to use as much outdoor space as possible within safety guidelines. They're also helping with procuring sanitizing supplies.
